Most of us have probably seen skywriting, but a new company has a
twist to it, man made clouds in the form of corporate advertising
that can look just like the logos. The
"flogos" are made from a chemical surfactant and
helium and can last for up to a half an hour.
..""Every major advertising company in the world has
come to discuss their roster. Some Fortune 500 companies have
been too and in Korea, artists have told us they want to use
flogos to make a kind of sculpture. The response has been
incredible."
ed.z.: and who will be the first to commission a bunch of big
floating "fingers" over like rival sports teams cities
or political conventions? And at what point will advertising ever
say "enough, we've covered it all"? Sort of like
lawmakers, no outside limit whatsoever, eventually over a billion
laws. Once we make common contact with alien civilizations
we'll be known as the "planet with all the signs"
"Welcome to Adworld!" Next up, bringing back the blink
tag for use in the floating ads. EEEk! A worse thought,
Flashclouds!
It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for their FAQ saying they only produce one every 15 seconds so you will need two per location (or 6 - 8 per event) to get the message across.
Unfortunately they have multiple patents so this idea can't really go mainstream...it would help Roger Waters with his escaping inflatable pig problem—three by my reckoning so far.
Pigs (three different ones) would seem to be the case...
