Here is another option for your spare computer cycles, the Nutritious Rice for the World project, part of the World Community Grid.

The project mission: "The objective of this project is to predict the structure of proteins of major strains of rice. The intent is to help farmers breed better rice strains with higher crop yields, promote greater disease and pest resistance, and utilize a full range of bioavailable nutrients that can benefit people around the world, especially in regions where hunger is a critical concern.".. they have software for Windows, Linux and Mac OSX. You have to sign in and register to get the client package.

I fully endorse this product and or service.  I found out about it when I was helldesking for big blue.  They gave me a shiny new t61 to replace my old machine and it had a wcg installler on it.  Been running it ever since
